Stuart Kirk is the former Global Head of Responsible Investments at HSBC, and works as a columnist for the Financial Times.
In 2022, global awareness of Stuart Kirk increased significantly after his polemical speech at a conference where he argued that that the risk to investment returns from climate change was over-hyped. The speech quickly went viral and sparked long debates among US senators, amongst others. During his speech, Kirk explained that he believes that humanity will deal with the climate crisis just as we have dealt with world wars, pandemics and much else.
